Proposition 19

Join us to hear a presentation by the Los Angeles County Assessor’s office on Proposition 19.  We will be covering the “nuts and bolts” of this recently passed State Constitutional Amendment.  Learn how YOUR property taxes will be impacted.

Recently passed Proposition 19 might have severe financial consequences for descendants who inherit property from their parents. Approved by California voters in the November 2020 election, Proposition 19 marks a landmark change to Proposition 13, the 1978 law that limits property taxes.  Proposition 19 requires market-value reassessments for inherited properties that are not used as an heir’s principal residence – attend this webinar and learn how you can avoid this situation.

With the passage of Proposition 19, eligible homeowners may now transfer their tax basis anywhere within California and to a property of greater value, whereas previously homeowners were limited to transfers within certain counties and to homes of the same or lesser market value. Primarily supported by the California Association of Realtors, Proposition 19 also increases the number of times people may transfer their tax assessments. If a person is 55 years or older, has severe disabilities, or lost a home in a natural disaster, the person may transfer their tax assessment up to three times now (up from one).

During this must attend webinar event, we will cover:

  • The “nuts and bolts” of Proposition 19 – we are going to get into the details here!
  • Overview of Assessor's Office, Including Tax-Savings Programs – How you can have your property reassessed if you think it has declined in market value?
  • Important updates on Proposition 19 and Changes to Parent-to-Child Transfers and Senior Citizen Replacement Property transfers
  • Important Updates on the Property Assessment Roll and Real Estate Market
  • And much, much more!  Q&A to follow.

This may be by far the most important and impactful webinars of 2021 for any real estate investor, especially for multifamily investors. Therefore, this is the one webinar you cannot afford to miss.
