The Consumer Protection Division of the Santa Monica City Attorney’s Office, along with the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles and Action Apartment Association, will sponsor the workshop Fair Housing Issues in Rental Housing on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 9 am to 12 pm at the Santa Monica Main Library. Presented during the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, and National Fair Housing Month, the workshop is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to increase awareness of the fair housing laws.

The presenters include Chancela Al-Mansour, Executive Director of the Southern California Housing Rights Center; Jessica Weisman, Managing Partner of Client Education at the Law Offices of Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP; Denise McGranahan, Senior Staff Attorney at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, and Deputy City Attorney Gary Rhoades and Consumer Specialist Andrea Cavanaugh from the City Attorney’s Office.

All owners, property managers, attorneys, social-service providers, and tenants are invited to attend free of charge. A continental breakfast will be provided and parking at the library will be validated.
