Mission Statement

The Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles (AAGLA ) is a trade association and government advocate serving rental housing providers throughout Southern California since 1917. Today, our association’s members are over 10,000 strong and own or manage more than 350,000 rental units. Our diverse group of members consist of both rental housing providers and residential property management professionals, developers and other real estate professionals, and vendors that serve rental housing businesses.

Our primary goal is to provide the information and delivery the resources necessary to for successful residential real estate management and to achieve a fair return on investment that allows our members to continue to provide safe and affordable housing within the communities located throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area. We do this by providing, among other things, a constant array of online webinars and in-person seminars to keep members up to date on the latest regulations and property management best practices, operational advisors with decades of property management experience available 5-days per week by phone and email, and at no cost to members a comprehensive library of lease forms and notices covering every local jurisdiction within our territory.

We also serve as your government advocates and cover nearly 200 local jurisdictions with our team of local advocates (lobbyists) and cover state issues with the help of our Sacramento based lobbyists. For over 105 years, we have steadfastly advocated on behalf of rental housing providers seeking balance and moderation in all regulations to achieve the protection of our members’ property rights.
