In April 2010, the federal law required anyone performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb painted surfaces on rental properties, schools and child-care facilities built prior to 1978 to be certified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.

AAGLA offers training each month in both English and Spanish. Our instructor Linda Kite and her team at the Healthy Homes Collaborative conduct this training. The HHC trainings ensure that those who take our training are in compliance and that their specific needs are met beyond the 8-hour class. Students who have completed their training have indicated they feel confident and capable of putting into practice what they have learned.
