“After reading the full rent control measure I am more convinced the whole thing is lunacy, especially the eviction protections. As property owner, I pay property taxes and upkeep yet cannot live in my own property unless I pay the tenants six months rent! What did this person do to deserve this from me!? This would be upwards of $15,000 for them to leave. I worked and saved money to buy a place and the city is taking my rights to it, and essentially giving it to someone else, yet I’m still paying all upkeep and property taxes! And I have to pay a fee to fund the board whose only requirements to serve is you are 18 and have lived here for 30 days! This seems like a bad nightmare.”
